Thank you!
My three years on the wine club board have come to an end. For me, it has been a very rewarding experience, meeting new friends and becoming active in our community. I have had the privilege of working with eight fantastic volunteers that have put in many hours to make our club a success! I consider them all great friends and appreciate their assistance in making all of our events fun as well as educational. The 2018 Board will be under the direction of Diane Vetter, who I am sure, will bring the club to new heights.
I also want to thank the staff at the Kiva Club, with the ticketing process, to the room set up and wine deliveries. Gregg, Rachel, Fred and Danielle have helped arrange for our meeting rooms for events from the Kiva tastings, the Holiday party, and board meetings. Then, Chef Robbie for the wonderful food he has prepared for us, from just simple cheese and crackers, to our delicious Holiday party.
It has been my honor to serve on the Wine Club board and I will cherish all the memories from the last three years. Have a wonderful 2018!
~Cheers~

We ventured to Carrabba’s in Surprise, in mid-November, for our Dining Out event.
We took over a portion of the restaurant, and had one of the best experiences of the year. We enjoyed a wine pairing with each course. We began with Shrimp Diavolo, paired with Riondo Prosecco (Italy). The salad was paired with Chloe Pinot Grigio (Italy), and the Pasta Cavatappi Amatriciana was paired with Layer Cake Malbec (Argentina). The Chicken Marsala was paired with Gavi di Gave La Scolca Bobo DOCG White Label (Italy), and the dessert of Sogno di Cioccolata was paired with Allegrini “Palazzo Della Torre” Red Blend (Italy).The food was excellent, and service superb. The manager, and staff, worked hard to provide us with an enjoyable evening. I know I am looking forward to another Wine Club Dining Out event at Carrabba’s in the future!
We have enjoyed some delightful meals, and tried some wonderful wines, at our Dining Out events during 2017. I hope you visit some of the restaurants we enjoyed this year, you will mention the Trilogy Wine Club. This way they know the extra effort that is extended for the large group events is recognized, and appreciated.
The restaurants we visited in 2017 included:
* Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill, in Peoria
* Cartwright’s in Cave Creek
* Vogue Bistro in Surprise
* Bottega Pizzeria Ristorante, in Glendale
* Carrabba’s in Surprise
Please let us know if there is a restaurant you would like us to approach for a Dining Out event, as well all enjoy trying restaurants we may not have been to before.
Thank you all for all for making these events so much fun to plan, and attend. I hope you were able to enjoy some new found favorite wines for the holidays, and I wish you all a Very Happy New Year.
I would also like to welcome JoJo Grove as the new Outside Events chairperson. Until our next Wine Club gathering - Cheers!

The 2017 year has flown by for me. It seems like only yesterday we were tasting some wonderful Italian Wines but in reality it was almost a year ago. Since then we have tasted and enjoyed 54 wines from all over the United States and many spots around the world. I hope you have all learned more about wine, new varietals and expanded your taste buds. This past quarter we tasted wines from Spain, tried six different Syrahs and Shiraz and experienced another wine pairing afternoon.
On January 28th we will again feature the ever popular Italian wines. We tasted and selected the wines a few weeks ago and I promise, you will not be disappointed in the selections. In February we will be tasting wines from Washington and Oregon and in March we will have another Food and Wine Pairing Event. We are always open to suggestions for the events. If you have any ideas, please come up and chat with me at one of the events or email me any thoughts you may have.
December 1st was a wonderful party thanks to Thaddeus Rose, Chef Robbie and his staff, The Kiva management staff, the Trilogy Wine Board, and my great Kiva committee.
A big thanks to Rose Peretzman, Jojo Grove, Karie Miller and Janet Locklar not only for the help with planning and decorating for the Holiday Party but also their help all year with the Kiva functions. Be sure to mark November 30th 2018 for the Holiday party next year.
Best wishes for good health and great wine in 2018!

This newsletter wraps up not only the fourth quarter of 2017 home socials, but the entire calendar year. During 2017 we had 10 monthly home socials hosted by 34 homes with total attendance of 1,170. Obviously home socials continue to be very popular and very successful events. The people due the most thanks are the wonderful hosts who open up their homes to you fellow club members. I am most grateful to all those hosts I had the pleasure of working with during the course of not only this past year, but 2016 as well.
I am ending a two-year term as your Home Social Chair and I want to express how very rewarding (as well as challenging!) this position has been. It is remarkable how many hosts tell me after their event how much they enjoyed hosting and how easy it all was. That is our goal: make hosting effortless and then spread that word so that those of you who have not hosted will be encouraged to do so. If you’d like to see the specifics about hosting, go to TrilogyWineClub.com, select Club Events, and Home Hosted Tasting.
Succeeding me is the very capable Jan Trella who will need your full support as she attempts to fill the hosting calendar for 2018. We still need hosts for June and September and could use another host for next December. As always, contact the home social group at TWChomesocial@trilogywineclub.com to schedule the month of your choice.
I have a final note which is a tip for home social guests bringing appetizers. Put your name on your serving dishes and utensils by using those numerous return address labels we all keep getting from various organizations. Help us to get your possessions back to you!

Articles for the Newsletter
We know that many of our members take exciting trips to different wine areas in the world and we have had some excellent accounts of these trips in this newsletter. We are always on the lookout for these to publish for the rest of the club to see. If you are planning or have already taken a “wine” related trip, please consider sharing this with our members. The newsletter comes out quarterly at the beginning of January, April, July, and October. Contact me at TWCPUBLICITY@trilogywineclub.com for information. Also, if you come across some great information in your reading that you think the members would find interesting send it along to Vickie Mullins our new Publicity Chair. We also could use a couple more people who would be willing to take pictures at events for our Wine Club web page.
