From the President, Diane Vetter
I am so happy that spring finally arrived this year and we all are able to fully enjoy our time in the desert. With the warmer afternoons, we have on a frequent basis found ourselves enjoying a wide variety of delightful wines with friends outside in the beautiful the weather. There is something about living in Trilogy that seems to encourage this activity!
I hope many of you were able to attend the Trilogy Player’s most recent play, “Trilogy Uncensored.” Besides having a wonderful laugh, I learned that I was just not “swirling” my wine glass in the correct manner. Heads up to everyone, I just might try to mimic that at the next tasting!
We have had a change to our new Board members with Mike Hewitt joining the Board for the Kiva Club Events. We extend our thanks and appreciation to Doug Gilmore for the work he did. Please welcome Mike when you next see him.
I want to thank all the members who volunteered for Pack Day. The Wine Club was able to fill two tables that contributed to completing the packing in record time! See more details below about the results on that day.
Cheers!

Let’s Go Places, Outside Events – Jojo Grove
The outside events have been a continued success through this season.
February was a big hit at Firebirds. We had 34 attendees and the food was delicious. Wine was offered at half off so a lot of wine was consumed! The service and food were really on target that evening.
March was our outing to Amuse Bouche. Chef John and his entire staff went out of their way to make the night a fun and delicious evening. We had 50 attend and everyone had a wonderful time. The menu was incredible.
April is here, and I am working with Jill at The Social on 83rd for our dinner. I have heard great things about this place and they plan to give us the entire restaurant!! Mark your calender for April 29 and watch for more details to come!
Just FYI, there will be no outside event in May.
Cheers!

Kiva Events – Mike Hewitt
After living in Trilogy for just over a year and having thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the Wine Club, my wife Cory and I decided we should give back to the club what it has given us.
Last month we made the decision to take responsibility of the Kiva Club events. It was not an easy decision! We are not living here full time and were concerned we would not have the time to do it right. After spending many hours with Lynne and Roger Petersen (former coordinator – several times) we were much more comfortable in assuming the task. With the help of President Diane Vetter, wine board members and many other friends we are now comfortable in making the experience enjoyable.
For those who attended last month you may have noticed we now have greeters at the door to greet members and assist first time attendees. It wasn’t that long ago that we first walked into that room and felt slightly intimidated ourselves.
It is our intent to make everyone welcome, to learn more about some great wines and most of all have fun and enjoy each other’s company. We are going to shorten the formal presentation to allow more time to pour, swirl, look and sip. :)
There have been some challenges about the food quality in the past! The High End tasting last month was a total disgrace and a complete disaster!!!! The board recognizes it and has taken steps to rectify the problem.
The event is a lot of work and we are going to be asking for help with greeting at the door, checking members in, getting tables ready, checking out the wine purchases and yes a small amount of clean up.
If you are so inclined and would like to participate in the fun, feel free to email, text or call Cory or me any time after 9 am or before 8 pm.
Mike [email protected] 509-520-2316
Cory [email protected] 509-529-0889
We look forward to getting to know each one of you.
Cheers!

Home Socials – Jan Trella
We are already starting the second quarter of 2019 and we’ll probably start seeing fewer people at the Home Socials until October. We have been fortunate to have four host homes a month since last October but if past years numbers hold, we will only need three homes for the next four socials. We have three homes scheduled for April, but if the numbers warrant it, I have another home ready to host.
Speaking of hosting, there are a couple months where hosts are needed this year. I do not have any hosts for June (need two minimum but prefer three) and need two more for September and one for November. If you can do this, please get in touch with me. We would hate to have to cancel June, but without hosts there will be no choice.
We would like to thank the hosts who stepped up the first three cold months of 2019—Dan & Ellen McIsaac, Doug Bauer, Doug Gilmore, Ted & Jan Querciagrossa, Jerry Koeller & Linda Drew, Kathy & Dan Bosley, Don & Susan Lutz, Don & Donna Pottinger, Jay & Debbie Edwards, Mark & Jeannine Ruetz, Bob & Karen Perry and John & Mary Jo Packard. We had 434 attendees during these three months.
Remember the purpose of the Home Socials is to meet new people while enjoying some nice wines and appetizers. Each attendee is to bring a wine that is valued at $10 or above. Any wines left at the end of the evening are to stay with the hosts. Many of us have found a new wine that we like when we try a wine that someone else brought.
The Home socials are the 2nd Saturday of the month and the invitations go out the Friday two weeks before the social. Below are the dates of the next socials and when the invitation will arrive. Be sure to check your email, and if the Punchbowl invitation is not received by 4 pm, check your junk mail because it might be there. RSVP after you are sure you are available on that date.
April 13th Home Social Punchbowl Invitation Friday, March 29th
May 11th Home Social Punchbowl Invitation Friday, April 26th
June 8th Home Social Punchbowl Invitation Friday, May 24th
See you at the Socials!
Cheers!

TWC Members Integral Part of "Feed the Kids" Success
The TWC received the following letter from Susan DiGiovanni, Chair of the Trilogy Food for Kidz program. The TWC Board is so grateful for the incredible turnout of our members and thank each one of you for your time, it was a day to remember!
Hi Diane,
On behalf of the entire Trilogy Food for Kidz team, I want to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the Trilogy Wine Club for their participation in the 2019 Pack Day Event on Tuesday. Because of the efforts of you and your club volunteers, we were able to set a new record and achieve our goal of packing 150,000 meals. Valley View Community Food Bank has received 75,000 meals to service the needs of the needy in the West Valley. The other 75,000 meals were sent back to the Food for Kidz headquarters to be distributed around the world where needed.
This year Food for Kidz tried something new – asking Trilogy clubs to sponsor a table or two throughout the day so we had all available tables filled with packers. This idea worked and we received a significant number of positive comments from those who participated. In addition to packing a record number of 150,000 meals, we did this in a record time of three hours and ten minutes.
Please extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of your club volunteers and we hope they enjoyed the event as much as we enjoyed having you with us. We would not have been able to achieve our goal without the Trilogy Wine Club’s participation and, hopefully, we can count on your participation next year.
Sincerely,
Susan DiGiovanni, Chair
