Wine Club Monthly Events:
HOME SOCIALS: These monthly socials are held at member’s homes and each attendee is expected to bring one $10 to $20 bottle of wine (per person) and one appetizer (per couple). Members are assigned to a specific home on a first come first served rotational basis. These events are more social and less educational. All members that participate in these Home Socials MUST AGREE TO HOST an event in their home on a rotational basis.
OUTSIDE EVENTS: Most every month we organize a dinner and/or wine event at an outside restaurant. These popular events are usually in the West Valley but they can be as far afield as Scottsdale. Most venues offer us discounted prices on select wines from their wine list. Generally there is a prix fixe menu (usually with several entrée choices) at a set price which is paid for at the restaurant. Bus transportation is usually offered at an additional cost. Most years we also put together an excursion to wine producing areas in Arizona or California.
KIVA CLUB TASTINGS: Each month we have an educational tasting at the Kiva Club. At these events we have a wine distributor present a flight of pre-selected wines for members to taste (and purchase at discounted prices). The presenter will talk about each wine and there is then time for questions and discussion. These events are educational as well as social and range in size from 40 to over 100 participants depending on the time of year. Noise levels can be bothersome, therefore we expect attendees to follow socially accepted rules of conduct while a presenter is speaking.
